7 Expert Tips For A Crazy Converting Squeeze Page
Understand Your Audience
First things first. If you’re having challenges with collecting leads then listen up!
Let me be super real with you… If your messaging isn’t clear and people don’t resonate with your offer then you’re missing the point.
If you’re trying to appeal to everyone with your offer then you won’t apply to no one. (real talk!)
Sorry to break the news but you can’t and will never be able to help every single person on the earth with your business.
It’s exhausting. Plus, your ideal customers don’t want generic messaging. They want something that speaks directly to them. They want to see an offer that speaks to their hearts.
Ideally, you want your audience to view your offer on your squeeze and think “hell frickin’ yes!”. “This is exactly what I’m struggling with and this is so useful for me”.
So here’s a mission for you:
Become an expert at understanding your ideal audience. Basically, you want to understand your ideal audience more than anybody else. Yeah, you heard me! So, I encourage you to ask them questions so you understand them inside-out. Literally! I’m talking as much as your mama, boyf or BFF.
Here’s a few questions to get started with:
- What is their demographic (i.e age, gender, income bracket, education).
- What do they need help with?
- Where do they spend time to get the help they want?
- Who do they follow?
- What keeps them up at night?
Next, get ready to take a deep dive into the rabbit hole. Once you know what they need help with you can discover more about them. Try these questions:
- What is their number one problem?
- What are they currently doing to resolve that problem?
- Is it working/not working? Why?
- What is their desired end result?
- What can you offer to help them solve that problem?
- How can you communicate this?
Don’t overlook this. Those who dig deep and do the research to understand their audience win. Those who take the cookie cutter approach and copy and paste other people’s messaging lose.
Seriously, it will save you tons of time and money in the long run, especially when you start doing advertising. In fact, I recommend that you revisit this regularly so that you don’t make assumptions about your audience.
No matter what, make sure you understand your audience. This will help you get your messaging on point so you can create an explosion in list growth. You catch my drift?
Create a headline to hook your audience
When you’re creating your squeeze page you want to create a headline that grabs people’s attention immediately.
The aim of your headline is to hook people’s attention so that they keep reading. So, your headline has gotta be crystal clear and speak directly to your audience.
We want people to read your headline and say “omg yes” this is exactly what I need.
Also, you want to make sure that it pops out visually on the page. So, consider the size of your text and the contrast between the text and background.
Have a good call to action
I’m gonna drill this into you…the whole purpose of your squeeze page is to get people to take action with what you’re offering them. So, you want to create a compelling call to action to reel in new subscribers. Make sense?
Here’s a few things to consider to create an epic good call to action:
- Focus on the one thing
No matter what, you’ve got to create a specific offer with one call to action only so that people don’t get distracted. So, if you’re trying to get people to sign up your email list, stay off from promoting creative calls and services. Focus on the one thing only and it’ll be a lot more effective at growing your subscribers.
- Make it pop
Depending on how much content you have on your squeeze page you want to make sure that people don’t miss your call to action. Think about how you can make it stand out from the rest of the text.
- Be strategic
Whether you’re inviting people to sign up to your list or purchase your nurture wire offer, your call to action needs to be placed throughout the page. So the top, middle and bottom if need be. Just make sure that people see it. Otherwise your visitors can get distracted and before you know it, you’ve lost tons of new subscribers and customers. Hurts thinking about it, doesn’t it?
Have a clear end result
Similar to understanding your audience, you need to be super clear about what your end result is for your squeeze page. This is crucial for your business growth, because when you’re laser focused on your end result you’re going to be a lot more likely to achieve it.
More questions to ask yourself:
- What is the end result of this landing page? (Hint: is it to grow my number of leads).
- What is the one landing page I’m going to focus on? (Declaration: Because I know that when I focus on one thing I can create monumental results and move mountains!)
- How will I know when I have achieved my end result? (Hint: how many leads or purchases do I want from this landing page?).
Amazzzing. Once you know what your end result is with your squeeze page, you can use this to make sure that everything you do aligns with this.
5. Infuse Social Proof On Your Squeeze Page
When people are trying to figure out whether your product or service can help them with their problem, they’ll pay attention to what others have to say about you.
Let me just say, social proof is incredibly powerful. It fires psychological triggers in people’s brains and is the fastest way for cultivating credibility and trust. So, when you’re creating your squeeze page don’t forget to include testimonials from your customers.
For real, stellar testimonials work like magic for signing on new customers and growing your business.
So, before you go any further make it your mission to seek out epic testimonials from your customers. Not got any? Don’t sweat!
Reach out to your customers and ask them to give you a blurb on how your product or service impacted them. If you’re worried that they might say no, incentivise them by communicating that it’s an amazing PR opportunity for their business. It’s a win-win!
Be on Brand
No matter what, your squeeze page has to be on brand.
This isn’t just your fonts, colours, graphics and images. Everything you say and do has to be consistent. Basically, there needs to be coherence across the products and services you offer, your freebie, nurture wire and the audience that you’re targeting.
If something is out of alignment then it’s going to confuse the heck out of your audience. This is the last thing you want as it breaks trust and your customers will go somewhere else to get to find what they need. Do you get what I’m saying?
Here’s some more questions for you to consider:
- Who am I?/Who is my company?
- Who is my audience?
- What products and services do I offer?
- Will I create a nurture wire that offers a slice of my products/services?
- Can I create a freebie that would help my audience?
- Is this coherent with my products and services?
Also, another thing to consider when writing your squeeze page is your copy. Your copy can make or break you, so you don’t want to overlook this.
Your aim is to create copy that reflects your brand (aka who you are in person). So, if what you’re offering is soulful, you’re soulful and you’re website is soulful, pitching your products and services is going to be a lot easier.
Don’t hold back on creating copy that reflects your personality so that people can know, like and trust you.
Choose a page builder
Whether you’re experienced or a newbie, choose a squeeze builder that has squeeze page templates. This will make it a lot easier for you to build a squeeze page and get it up and running.
If you’re serious about tripling your business profits, I recommend using Kartra because it has the best analytics and A/B testing features.
They make it easy for you to keep track of what’s working and what isn’t working with your squeeze page and you can view this on your dashboard.
Once you’ve published your page, you’ll want to keep track of metrics like page views, scrolls and clicks. This is crucial for business growth, but it is often overlooked. People get scared by the numbers to avoid feeling disappointed.
But… keeping track of numbers is going to help you hone in on the most effective squeeze page design for maximum conversions. So, take a deep breath, be brave and focus on your numbers!
